Abstract
We are honoured to present an intense literary prose from La Montagne de la dernière chance, in which the French writer André Bucher describes a coarse Alpine landscape whose natural elements (rocks, crevasses, waters and plants) seem to come alive, to cry, to act in a way not dissimilar from that of human beings. The liveliness animating the earth, as well as the cries against the species representing its worst menace – the humans – appears to us a concise and uniform introduction to the themes explored in this monographic issue of our Journal, titled Ecocriticism and Ecospeech. New Reciprocities between Humanity and the Planet. We heartily thank the author for kindly offering this text for publication in our monographic issue.
