Abstract
This paper is aimed at analyzing Gigliola Venturi’s poetic translation within the volume “Poesia sovietica degli anni 60 (Ed. by Cesare G. De Michelis; Milano, Mondadori, 1971). The study is built on the metric-stylistic analysis of the Italian verses, and has the purpose of tracing translation methods and tendencies. The translations exhibit a special focus on rhymes and expressiveness rendering, deviating from the general tendency to prefer blank verses, and moving away from the least common choice of metric or rhythmic versions. Hence, Gigliola Venturi's strategy differs from the Russian into Italian translation tradition for the unusual choices and experiments performed, with more or less happy outcomes.
